Become a Community Ambassador for Healthy Me, Healthy Community

We’re looking for members of the Port Macquarie community to become Healthy Me, Healthy Community, Community Ambassadors.

Community Ambassadors are an integral part of the program, and are active members of the community who know what support is available in their community. They can direct community members such as friends, family, work colleagues and neighbours to an appropriate source of help.

This is what we call ‘signposting’ and it involves letting people know how to access the Healthy, Me Healthy Community program. The program aims to improve the health and wellbeing of community members that find themselves disconnected and lonely.

How do you become a Community Ambassador?

To become a Community Ambassador, all you need to do is complete a one-hour orientation session. During the session, you will learn the skills required to signpost and support others in the Port Macquarie community.

The more people that know what support is available, the more we can help each other as a community.

We’re looking for people who are effective at integrating with their local community and are able to bridge the gap between community members, services and build community knowledge as a result. The more people that know what support is available, the more we can help each other as a community.
