Home Care

At Feros Care we have been supporting Australians for over 30 years. Everything we do is designed with the goal of keeping people in their homes as long as possible, ensuring they live happier, healthier and more connected lives.

Do things your way
(with our help)

It’s your home. We know it’s where you belong – and there’s no reason to pack up and leave just because you may need a little more support than you used to.

If you’re not ready to move out, we can help you do things your way. We can even assist with the paperwork to get government funding sorted – to make life easier, with support offered for cooking, cleaning, personal care, transport and so much more.

Why choose Feros Care

Home care funding

How to pay for your in-home care

Government funded services

Home care services may be accessed through government-funded packages. These packages include different services depending on your needs and eligibility. To apply for a government-funded package, you need to get an assessment through My Aged Care. The two most popular programs are the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) for entry level care and Home Care Packages (HCP) for more complex needs.

Private services

If you are not eligible for a government-funded package or if you’d like to start receiving services straight away, you can do so by booking services directly through Feros Care.

Private services may be suitable while you’re waiting to get government-funded services approved, if you don’t meet the eligibility requirements, or if you preferred not to get assessed.

"Independence is the hardest thing to have to give up, but finding the right help has given me my freedom back. There are people I know who complain about their providers and I say go to Feros! Feros Care look after their staff, they look after their clients and they think outside the box and go beyond what other providers do."

"You wouldn’t think that two people so far apart in age would have so much in common but I consider her a friend more than a support worker. She really is wonderful. I wouldn't swap her for anything; I'm actually sad when I see her walking out the door."

Got a question?

Home care, also known as domiciliary care, is care that takes place in a person's own home to help them stay independent for longer. Home care services traditionally include cooking, cleaning, shopping, personal hygiene and other in-home assistance, but at Feros Care, we also offer a range of home and community care services that look after your home as well as your health and happiness. This includes companionship, pet care (walking, feeding, washing and transport), hairdressing and more. We also offer Carer's Break services so your carer can take a break and catch up on errands, social engagements and wellbeing activities.

If you're eligible for a Home Care Package (HCP) or subsidised in-home support such as the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), you can include these aged care services at home in your plan, but they can also be purchased privately. That means the care you need to live a happy, healthy and independent life at home can be funded through a government allowance or subsidy, or through private funds.

Home Care Package (HCP) and Commonwealth Home Support (CHSP) programs are similar in the service they fund. However, as there are many distinct differences between the two, including the level of support and funding available, it’s important to understand which program best suits your individual needs.

Read about the differences between the HCP and CHSP programs here and contact Feros Care for more information.

Home care and support is delivered by service providers like Feros Care. The government pays service providers a subsidy to provide the home and community care services that meet your individual care needs, ranging from basic support to high care. To ensure you receive the care you need, you work with your home care provider to identify the services required to manage your happiness, health and independence. Your home care service provider then organises and manages these services for you on your behalf.
