Am I Eligible for Home Care?

There’s a number of different Government subsidies available for home care. Each of these programmes and packages have broad eligibility criteria and an assessment process to help ensure everyone receives the care and support they need.  Each program has different eligibility criteria, but all will involve things like:

1. Your age – to be eligible for a Home Care Package (HCP) or Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), you need to be an older Australian or a younger person with an ageing related illness (like early onset dementia)
2. What help you may need to continue to live independently.
3. Your living arrangement and the support you currently receive from family and friends.

The assessment will decide your eligibility and find out how much and what type of help you need.
