Residential aged care is Australian government-funded care for seniors who can no longer live at home independently. It provides seniors with 24/7 accommodation and personal care along with access to healthcare and nursing services, so they can maintain their health and wellbeing. 

Residential aged care is delivered in a residential care home and in addition to personal care and health services, also provides cleaning, cooking, laundry and other everyday tasks, as well as entertainment and social and emotional support. To receive government funding and ensure the care home is safe and suitable for senior residents, residential aged care homes must meet quality standards and be approved providers of aged care services by the Department of Human Services.
