The Rain Hit The Ground Like

by Pat Kennelly

My ice cream did last week

My Socks falling off the clothesline

Bill Shortens votes!

My girlfriends clothes

The rain hit the ground like it can only do in summer in Limerick

There is no summer again this year

I long for the Sun, if only it would appear

Clouds make me sad and my face grow long

I need a new home but it has to be in the Sun

The rain hits the ground like dreams being Shattered

The rain hits the ground like my thoughts didn’t matter
