What can I use my NDIS funding for?
NDIS funds should be used to assist you with the identified goals in your plan. That means your NDIS funding may be used flexibly on supports and services which assist you to complete tasks which are consistent with your goals and which you need assistance with due to your disability.
Generally, utilising your NDIS funding for house cleaning would be considered reasonable and necessary if your disability makes house cleaning difficult for you or you are unable to clean your house due to your disability. Because it is not considered reasonable and necessary for children to clean the home, using funding for house cleaning would generally not be considered reasonable and necessary for a child.
The NDIS does not fund additional support required due to a health condition or injury which is not related to the disability with which the participant gained access to the scheme or a disability which was later added as a secondary disability.
Your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) can help you understand your NDIS plan and the supports and services that you can pay for with your NDIS funding.
